Point Pleasant Beach Police have had extra sets of eyes patrolling the borough of late due to a rash of motor vehicle thefts of late and the search for suspects heated up last week.

Two patrol officers were monitoring the area of town experiencing the thefts and around 3:00 am on Thursday of last week they spotted two vehicles moving pretty slow along Woodland Avenue.

One of the officers then pointed a spot light on one of the vehicles at which point both suspect vehicles hit the accelerator and made a break out of town.

Police pursued the vehicles through Bay Head and into Mantoloking where one vehicle struck a Mantoloking Police cruiser.

The officer was not injured, but the police vehicle sustained heavy front end damage from the collision.

The second suspect vehicle crashed into parked cars on Lagoon Lane in Mantoloking.

All four suspects then fled on foot after colliding the cars.

Point Pleasant Beach Police worked with officers from Mantoloking, Bay Head, Brick Township, Point Pleasant Borough, OC K9 Unit and the OC Sheriff’s Department Officers to bring the four subjects into custody.

Isaiah Seabrooks, 20, from East Orange, is charged with three counts of Theft, three counts of Burglary, Conspiracy to commit theft, Aggravated Assault, and Eluding.

Quadir Brown, 20, from Newark, is charged with three counts of Theft, three counts of Burglary, and Conspiracy to commit theft.

Jamal Walker, 22, from Newark, is charged with three counts of Theft, three counts of Burglary and Conspiracy to commit theft.

Joseph Amos Jr., 23, from Newark is charged with three counts of Theft, three counts of Burglary, Conspiracy to commit theft and Providing False Information to Law Enforcement.

All four men were processed at headquarters and transported to Ocean County Jail pending future court proceedings.

Point Pleasant Beach Police determined that the four men traveled from Newark with the intent to commit motor vehicle thefts, two of which did take place on Wednesday and have since been recovered in Newark.

"Four subjects with extensive criminal histories were apprehended quickly by our officers. Let this message serve as a reminder to anyone who decides to come to this area to commit a crime.”
