Point Pleasant Boro Senior Gets Accepted To Four Ivy League Schools

I’m a huge believer in setting an intention. The idea of knowing what you want, speaking it into existence, and then taking the necessary steps to make it a reality. When you think about it, it is not always the work that is the hardest part. Oddly enough, the hardest part is truly knowing what you want and what is going to make you happy.  Soncera "Sunny" Ball had her eyes on the prize from a young age and a special focus making what she achieved so wonderful and rare.

It was that intention setting, follow-through and hard work that enabled Sunny to get accepted not only to her dream school, Princeton University, but to FOUR Ivy League schools in total!  Of course Sunny is making Point Pleasant Boro very proud with the news that Brown, Cornell, Yale and of course her number one choice, Princeton have all officially made their offers of admission. Mom, this gets her out of some chores doesn’t it?  Sunny plans on pursuing either philosophy, history, or psychology, with certificates in music performance and creative writing.

Sunny said that she used to walk the Princeton campus when she was younger and now she is beyond excited and grateful that this will be her reality and her legacy.  Sunny’s parents attribute her success to her extreme determination.  They say that she always pushed herself to be better than the day before and as parents they only had to create an environment for her where she could be the self-starter she already was, the fire was within her all along.

Sunny says that the Point Pleasant community has been beyond supportive and the Point Pleasant School District’s teachers helped prepare her for this incredible journey.  It's a community that Sunny is proud to represent at Princeton and her community is equally proud of her.

When Sunny was asked about what advice she could offer other students aspiring to apply to an Ivy League school, she shared that it is important to know what you want and what makes you truly happy.  If you know that upfront then hard work will take care of the rest.  She noted that if you are really passionate about your focus it will be noticed. Like I said earlier, sometimes really knowing what you want can be the hardest part...so get busy dreaming kids!  Sunny is proof that you can reach for the stars...and grab them.
