Thank You! A Nurses Week Tribute To A Very Special Jersey Shore Hero
After the year we've had, how could we possibly express or thanks to all the Monmouth & Ocean County Nurses as National Nurses Week begins? Let's start by saying it a lot. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Then we'll start thanking them one at a time.
We're not sure thanking them one at a time is even possible, but we can start by focusing in on one very special nurse in our midst, and that's Nancy Kerr, a true local hero who has been on the front lines of the pandemic since the beginning.
Nancy Kerr, RN, MSN, CIC is the Director of Infection Prevention at Hackensack Meridian Health's Ocean Medical Center in Brick. She was recently honored by HMH for her outstanding commitment to nursing excellence, especially during the COVID pandemic.
Nancy is a great example of the massive positive impact our Jersey Shore nurses have had during this health crisis. Our nurses were such an integral part of us turning the corner on this pandemic. Who knows where we'd be without them. I'm so glad we'll never have to know the answer to that.
I often wonder what life around the hospital must have been for these brave souls who literally ran toward the raging fire called coronavirus while the rest of us were running away, especially when precious little was known about the virus.
So, to Nancy and all the amazing nurses who have put the health and safety of all of us ahead of their own well being, we love you, we thank you, and we cherish you. And to Nancy, keep up the great work, and from the bottom of our heart, we thank you for all you do.
