Today is one of those summer days at the Jersey Shore that is kind of a double whammy when it comes to weather conditions.

This is not about rain today. It's about air quality and pollen. First lets talk about today's Air Quality Alert which has been set at Code Orange for today. What the alert means is that air pollution levels can become unhealthy for sensitive groups.

And then there's the pollen. It seems like this allergy season has been endless, and today's grass pollen levels are high today and are expected to be high for six of the next seven days. A Local Pollen Alert has been issued for many parts of our area for today.

It's just another summer day at the Jersey Shore, but it is a day where people who are sensitive to the conditions today should take it easy outdoors or stay indoors as much as possible.
