Jackson’s Real-Life Santa Brightens Suffering Families’ Day

Santa Claus is coming to town -- but no really! Santa is actually coming to Jackson this holiday season!

Jim Mitchell, a truck driver and long time Jackson resident, makes his way around town every year to surprise families that have suffered catastrophic events over the previous year. He even comes with a sleigh that is an 1845 original that he spruced up himself!

“The kids were stunned; they were so excited to have Santa in the house,” said Christina Leverich who first received a surprise Santa Claus visit back in 2015. . “He explained that it was a very special year for us, since their daddy went to heaven, and he was making an extra special stop before Christmas.”

Mitchell usually decides who to visit based on recommendations sent to him through social media and word of mouth.

Santa Claus is actually looking for some help packing his sleigh for his scheduled stops on December 23rd.
