DIY: Refurbishing Junk & Creating Your Own Treasure
Hopefully, you will have a little more time for yourself this summer, which is a great time to get interested in a new hobby. Consider the art and craft of refurbishing items that someone else may put on the curb for bulk trash day.
I found this wooden plant stand, which was too nice to pass up. After scraping, using some wood filler to smooth out the cracks and a fresh coat of paint, the plant stand has been refurbished and is taking up residency in my kitchen. Selecting just the right color was the biggest challenge. Eventually, I chose California Claret, which reminds me of a vintage barn color.
Give this eco-conscious hobby a try. You could be saving money, a piece of history, or create a customized piece of furniture for your home. So many rewards, you won’t be disappointed.
