I was absolutely stumped when a friend of mine refused to acknowledge a man she had been dating for a few months on social media whatsoever. I understand wanting to play the field, but then I began to wonder when do people feel comfortable to start posting and making their significant other known in the cyber world?

Well, you have spoken.

40% of voters say that they don't even go near their social media platforms until the relationship has been developing for a solid 6 months to a year.

Tied for second place, 20% of voters said that they wait for 1 year or longer and another 20 % says they wait only 1 to 2 months before involving social media into the relationship.

Of course, it all depends on the relationship itself but I definitely understand the need to wait. Why make it known to the world right away if you are not even sure if it is going to last?
