I know we have discussed this subject many times before but hopefully this will be the last time.

The construction on Route 166 in Toms River is almost over!

According to APP.com, Department of Transportation (DOT) spokesman Steve Schapiro said that paving the roadway is the final task on the to-do list and it should be completed once the weather is a tad warmer so workers can get it done during the overnight shift.

Of course, the Jersey Shore drivers will be relieved but I think the nearby businesses have had enough because the frequent road closures and detours can definitely post a threat to their businesses.

"We can see the light at the end of the tunnel," said Corinne Jewelers' owner Ryan Blumenthal. "But whenever they’re not working, that’s always the worst part. You look out your window and no one is out there working."

Just to remind everyone -- this project starting three years ago so I think being able to say we have reached the light at the end of the tunnel is long overdue.

But do they ACTUALLY mean it this time?
