It is always a positive sign when a restaurant that has been closed since the Covid 19 crisis is able to reopen at least for takeout! And they have an awesome special menu.

Salt Creek Grille in Rumson, which closed to the public in March by state mandates due to the coronavirus, has officially fired up its stoves and is offering a new, limited takeout menu with curbside pickup.

This award-winning and hugely popular waterfront restaurant which serves 'new American grill fare' has been a mainstay for over 20 years. Salt Creek Grille will offer heat-and-serve dinner and grill-at-home packages that serve four adults Wednesdays through Sunday from 4-8 p.m.

Co-Owner Steve Bidgood opened Salt Creek Grille in 1998 and says that as soon as he gets the green light, his beloved restaurant will reopen to the public. In his words, "The Northeast has been hit hard by the Covid-19 virus and we sense that our opening for takeout will give our community a little bit of comfort. We’ve been serving this community for 22 years and we have shared in thousands of memories with our guests. We are so excited to open for takeout!”

The limited takeout menu will offer heat-and-serve main courses with easy reheating instructions and includes choice of two sides, and one soup or salad serving four adults. Takeout cooked items include of Roast Chicken, Meatloaf, Rack of Ribs, Asiago Chicken, Stuffed Meatballs and Rigatoni, Chicken and Goat Cheese Bucatini. YUM!!!

Grill-at-home uncooked, pre-seasoned items include Coffee-Rubbed NY York Steaks, Chimichurri Marinated Flat Iron Steaks, Seasoned Filet Steaks, Brined Chicken Breasts, Seasoned Salmon Filet, Provence Seasoned Whole Chickens (split in half for the grill.) LOVE IT!!!

Starters serve four (one included with heat-and-serve and grill-at-home mains) are House Balsamic and Caesar Salad (dressing on the side for both) or Chef’s Soup. Orders with main include two sides serving four, Mashed Potatoes, Mac & Cheese, Citrus Brown Rice or Seasonal Vegetables.

There are also several add-ons such as Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Shrimp, Tuna Sashimi with avocado, cucumber, wasabi, ginger, soy; Chocolate or Butter Cake and quarts of Salt Creek Grille’s BBQ Sauce, Marinara Sauce, Caesar Salad Dressing.

Orders can be placed by calling (732) 933-9272 from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. (while supplies last) at which time the order must be paid for by credit card. Those placing orders will get a time slot to pull their car up in front of Salt Creek Grille, and a manager wearing mask and gloves will bring out the takeout order and place in the car’s trunk.
