No. 6 Howell 18, Freehold Township 3

Senior attackman Ben Mencher scored his first varsity goal to highlight the Rebels' (2-1, 2-0) win over the Patriots (0-2, 0-1).

Junior attackman Nate Lorenzo led all players with five goals and two assists while senior attackman Vin Burns tallied three goals and three assists. Freshman midfielder Vin Meehan added one goal and two assists, senior midfielders Doug MacKenzie, Tyler Burns, and Dax Kukan had a goal and an assist each, and Nick Conte, Nicholas Turturro, Chris Calafire, Jack Marich, Ian McDow, and Mencher all scored once. Glenn Giordano won 14 of 21 faceoffs and Colin Fay made 8 saves.

Aidan Harrington had a goal and an assist, Nolan Thompson and Nick Carnevale had one goal each. Ian Fallon and Doug Kemble had assists, and Connor Brown made eight saves for Freehold Township.

 

No. 10 Manalapan 16, Marlboro 3

Sophomore attackman Christian Zdiarski, sophomore midfielder Grant Carle, and senior midfielder Ben Perle all scored three times to lead the Braves (1-1, 1-1) to a convincing win over the Mustangs (0-3, 0-2).

Zdiarski finished with a game-high five points on three goals and two assists while Perle had three goals and one assist. Dylan Friedman and Frankie D'Amore each scored twice, Marc Stefanelli had a goal and two assists, Anthony Macchio had a goal and an assist, and Adam Vender scored once. Alex Kaplan, Jim Bruno, Jack Kern, and Jack Boyle all had one assist. Kaplan made three saves and allowed one goal to earn the win. Antonio Santana made four saves.

Manalapan led 13-1 at halftime.

 

Nondivisional

No. 4 Wall 18, Ocean 1

Junior midfielder Connor Moore delivered three goals and two assists, senior midfielder Matt Dollive tallied three goals and one assist, and sophomore attackman Jack Meyer notched a hat trick as the Crimson Knights (3-1) used 10 different goal scorers to roll to a victory over the Spartans (1-2).

Jake Davis added two goals and one assist, Patrick Donohue scored twice, Eugene Haghighi, John McCurry, and William Madden had a goal and an assist each, and Michael Hoarle and Shea Brennen both scored once. Thomas Salomon chipped in with one assist. Hoarle (10-for-10) and Robert Langworthy (6-for-6) combined to go a perfect 16-for-16 at the face-off X.

Sophomore Ben Girard scored the lone goal for Ocean and Blaine Grayson made 17 saves in goal.

 

Lacey 11, Central 0

Senior midfielder John Dodaro scored four goals with one assist to lead the Loins (1-1) past the Golden Eagles (0-4) for their first win of the season.

Gaetano Dimiele totaled two goals and two assists, Matt VanNortwick had two goals and one assist, Cory Smith and Christopher Grassadonio each had a goal and an assist, Dakota Zummo scored once, and David Wilson had one assist. Chad Moore made eight saves in goal to earn the shutout.

 

Colts Neck 7, Brick 4

Junior LSM Thomas Halmi scored a career-high three goals and picked up nine ground balls to lead the Cougars (1-1) past the Dragons (0-3)

Juniors Sean Perkinson and Braeden Sanfilippo each totaled two goals and three assists.

 

Point Boro 15, Neptune 1

The Kirk brothers led the way for the Panthers (3-0) by combining for 15 points in a victory over the Scarlet Fliers (0-3).

Senior midfielder Aidan Kirk scored five goals and added four assists and freshman Brady Kirk totaled three goals and three assists. Matt Koehler and Spencer Knapp each tallied two goals and one assist while Owen Dewysockie, Dennis Glynn, and Brian Orio had one goal apiece. Greyson Ritter added two assists, Tommy Morris won 8 of 15 faceoffs, and Colin Cole (4 saves) and Matt Azzarano (3 saves) split time in goal.

 

St. Rose 5, Jackson Memorial 4

The Purple Roses (3-0) continued their strong start to the season by winning a low-scoring battle against the Jaguars (2-1).

John Harold led the way with three goals, Colin Westhoven won 6 of 11 faceoffs and picked up eight ground balls, and Cameron McManus made six saves in goal. Sean Lattimer and Dan Bair each scored once and James Magrini and Jeff Vitale had assists.

Hunter Olsen made 19 saves in goal for Jackson while Drew Barocas and Charlie Harrison had a goal and an assist each and Justin Perillo and Charlie Gumina had one goal each. Matt DeRosa added two assists.

 

Red Bank Catholic 19, Middletown North 7

Junior midfielder Torin Harmon scored. game-high five goals to lead the way for the Caseys (2-1) in their win over the Lions (1-2).

Anthony Muniz had four goals and one assist, Jackson Lue also scored four times, and Sam Fertal totaled three goals and one assist. Logan Graham added two goals and Peter Villare had a goal and two assists. Nick Cosimiano won 13 of 14 faceoffs and picked up 12 ground balls and Gianvito Viola made 13 saves in goal.

 

Jackson Liberty 7, St. John Vianney 6 (OT)

Reese Stewart scored four goals with one assist and Paul Capozzi tallied two goals and three assists as the Lions (1-2) clipped the Lancers (0-2) in overtime.

Sam Matthies scored once and Hunter Fancher and Yousef Takawy had one assist each.

 

Holmdel 14, Brick Memorial 1

Kyle Kapcsos scored five goals ad Aidan Lagana had four goals and one assist to power the Hornets (3-0) to a win over the Mustangs (2-1).

Will Gilfillan had a game-high six points with two goals and four assists, Jaden Gallo added a goal and two assists Jack Powers had a goal and an assist while winning 17 of 19 faceoffs, and Evan Cohen scored once. Jared Battaglia had two assists, Dylan Lagana and John Fanzini had one assist each, and Andrew Arredondo made four saves.

Holmdel lead 6-1 at halftime before blowing the game open with an 8-0 run in the second half.

Aiden McBride scored for Brick Memorial with an assist from Henry Lindquist and Paul Mazzeo made 20 saves.

 

Toms River South 15, Donovan Catholic 8

Aidan Vicidomini, Shane Toal, Brady Derome, and Jake Hull helped the Indians (2-1) rally from a halftime deficit to defeat the Griffins (1-2).

Vicidomini won 18 of 26 faceoffs, picked up 10 ground balls, and scored two goals with one assist. Total had a team-high seven points on four goals and three assists, Derome scored five goals with one assist, and Hull made 13 saves.  Cal Narvaez added two goals and two assists, Cory Kaiser and Michael Desiderio each scored once, and Matthew Hartzfeld and Sam Speedy had one assist each.

Donovan Catholic led 7-6 at halftime before Toms River South closed the game on an 8-1 run.

 

Nonconference

 Iona Prep (NY) 9, No. 7 CBA 6

Ryan Martin scored twice, Nick Blalock dished out three assists, and Brandon DeSena made nine saves, but the Colts (2-2) fell behind early and couldn't rally in a non-conference road loss to the Gaels.

Iona Prep led 4-0 after the first quarter and 8-3 at halftime.

Ian Macrae, Max Avrillon, Hayden Kelly, and Davis Campbell each scored once and Sean Tennyson had one assist.
