Actually, Maybe We Shouldn’t Receive A 4th Stimulus Check. Do You Agree?
Only two states in the entire United States of America have started the process to send out a 4th stimulus check.
At first, my initial reaction was: "HELLLOOO?!?!?!"
The economy is hurting and without more financial push, aren't we screwed?

But then I saw Shannon Holly's post about an Ocean City restaurant who had to hire a robot because of staff shortages and it got me thinking.
I have been seeing articles all over the place about staff shortages in restaurants, nursing homes, and retailers like the oh-so-glorious place we call Wawa.
I even got my haircut at Crystal's Beach Salon in Seaside Heights and after talking with the owner, she revealed that she was the ONLY full-time hair dresser working at the salon. This is because everyone she lost during COVID-19 did not want to return to work just yet.
Why?
Because residents are still receiving an additional $300 per week on top of their regular unemployment amount. In most cases, people are getting paid more to sit at home then to go out and get back to work.
I don't want to sound like I am not aware of the reason this was implemented in the first place.
At the start of COVID-19, the economy basically collapsed because the entire globe had to shut down in an attempt to save lives. A large percentage of people lost their jobs and living on unemployment is usually a temporary situation while looking for a job.
But in this case, it was the long term solution for many because there were no new jobs during COVID because everyone lost money like crazy.
So these additional funds were meant to help keep people afloat and so people could continue to put food on the table.
But now, the jobs are coming back. The world is opening back up. The mask mandate for outdoors has been lifted and little by little we are seeing more and more signs of "normal" return.
This means that people need to start getting back to work so the world can continue to go round and part of me is worried that a 4th stimulus check will delay that process.
Of course I want the extra money! Who wouldn't?
But maybe the loophole for a 4th stimulus check is to have it sent out to only those who really need it?
For example, if your pay was cut at work or if you are not eligible for unemployment.
What do you think?
And again....to anyone who is struggling right now, just try to hold on. The light at the end of the tunnel is finally visible.
