When it comes to the rankings for New Jersey highways, the Garden State's ranking will surprise no one who spends any time driving on them.

If you are a commuter who uses New Jersey highways on a regular basis, the fact that a recent study which ranked each state for their state highway systems has placed New Jersey's highways dead last in the nation.

The study was done by the Reason Foundation, and they took a lot of things into account when formulating their rankings, which have New Jersey in  last place in the nation. Let's look at some of the reasons for our poor performance.

Why NJ Highways Are Worst

A first glance, this doesn't really come as a surprise to any of us, but after thinking about it for a minute, it will most likely infuriate you. Shouldn't we be doing much better than this? I think you'll agree we should.

No, it's not our biggest issue right now, but it is a big deal. We dish out a lot of our hard earned money and we deserve better.
