The weekend is a weekend for lover's ..... it's Valentine's Day this Sunday, February 14th and if you are thinking something sweet for your "sweetheart" how about something that's both tasty and "heart healthy"

Health officials have often touted the benefits of "dark" chocolate and maybe this Valentine's Day you get your loved one some "dark" chocolate and they can enjoy and reap the benefits of this food.

Our friends at Hackensack Meridian Health  have listed "dark" chocolate as one of the heart healthy foods you need to enjoy. According to officials "about 1 ounce of dark chocolate a few times a week can improve circulation, decrease inflammation and protect against the oxidation of “bad” LDL cholesterol."

Here is a "dark" chocolate recipe you might want to try this Valentine's Day weekend

In addition officials say "dark" chocolate is "rich in soluble fiber and minerals like iron, magnesium and copper. Look for dark chocolate with a cocoa percentage of 70 percent or higher." Lot's of local sweet shops here at the Jersey Shore have great selections of "dark" chcocolate for you to choose from this Valentine's Day Weekend.

So this Valentine's Day think "dark" chocolate and enjoy.
