His name is Ikie and boy is he a fluffy Point Pet of the Week!  But sometimes those who are going to adopt a pet overlook the adults in favor of the babies. Maybe Ikie will change your mind.

Ikie's owner had health issues and had to surrender him to the Monmouth County SPCA in 2010. Because he is fully grown and FIV+, this beautiful cat has not yet been adopted. He doesnt require any medical treatment and is in good health.

One benefit of adopting an adult cat is that you know what kind of personality you are bringing into your home. Ikie is very sweet and loves having his neck, ears, and cheeks scratched and he also loves to be brushed. For fun just give him a box or bag to play hide-and-seek in!

If you'd like to meet Ikie or any of the other dogs, cats, kittens, puppies or other animals up for adoption, visit the MCSPCA  at 260 Wall Street in Eatontown. They're open Mon. - Fri. 1 - 5 pm, Sat. and Sun. Noon - 5 pm.

And the Homeward Bound Adoption Center inside Freehold Raceway Mall is open for adoptions Thurs.-Sun. during mall hours. Or check out the pets online at www.monmouthcountyspca.org

Also, you are invited to take part in the "Run For the Animals 3K and Doggie Dash" on June 16th at Monmouth Battlefield in Freehold....started by an animal-loving boy when he was in 7th grade to help find homes for the animals at the MCSPCA. It's nice to see how even children can help! More details on that to come.
