This Teen Band from Monmouth/Ocean is Doing Big Things

These teens (and one awesome PRE-teen!) are performing opening night at the Monmouth County Fair and then they are off to Cleveland to play at two dates at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame!

Meet Marel Hidalgo and The Stone Feathers, a local band featuring kids from Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

Marel himself just turned 9, so he's the youngest, and has been playing several instruments since he was FOUR years old! He is adorable and amazing all rolled into one package.

He lives in Bradley Beach and has had lots of recognition and awards as a solo artist and playing with adults, but he wanted other kids to play music with, so a band was formed that now features Emma from Point Pleasant Beach, Nick from Wall, McKaela from Neptune, and Ben (um...yes...my son) from Wall.

The band has been playing festivals and other indoor and outdoor venues all spring and summer, and has several other dates planned this summer where you will be able to see them, including events in Freehold and Asbury Park.

They have even been taught to give back...and some of their events are fundraisers for groups and individuals in our community.
