Famous Movie Sets In New Jersey

If you love movies, and you love New Jersey, you can combine the two and plan a day trip to what one national publication calls the top movie location in New Jersey.

We know that there have been a ton of very famous movies shot right here in the Garden State. The first one that comes to mind is the Amityville Horror house in Toms River.

That one is legendary, but it is not the one the Love Exploring spotlights as the top one in New Jersey. The fact that it's not is completely debatable, but that's an argument for another day.

It turns out the movie location they did choose as New Jersey's ultimate movie set was another horror movie. Actually, it's probably the most famous slasher movie of all time.

We're talking the one and only Friday the 13th, and in case you didn't know, it was mostly shot right here in the Garden State.

As a matter of fact, it was filmed at a camp known as Camp-No-Be-Bo-Sco, and it's not really that far away.

It's less than two hours away in Hardwick, NJ, so if you're really a movie buff, that's a small price to pay.

And there was also some filming done at other area places, like the Blairstown Diner, so you can visit there for a great meal and a piece of cinema history.

So, Friday the 13th fans, or just New Jersey movie fans, you can carve a day out of your calendar to visit the top movie location in New Jersey. And be careful on 206!
