UPDATE On Dog Who Spent Over 1K Days In Shelter
UPDATE: First I would just like to send out a humongous thank you to everyone who helped to get Shanice's story out there.
Because word spread like wildfire, there is an update to Shanice's story.
She was actually pulled from the Tinton Falls shelter by a rescue known as Pitties and Pals Rescue to get her out of the shelter and into a new environment.
She is still up for adoption but now she is with a rescue that specifically works with pitbulls!
If you are interested in adopting Shanice, or any of the other dogs that are currently available for adoption, just reach out to Pitties and Pals Rescue so you can bring home your forever furry family member!
Stories like these just absolutely break my heart.
Meet this gorgeous girl named Shanice. She has unfortunately been at the Associated Humane in Tinton Falls for 1,091 days and counting. (The official address is 2960 Shafto Road, Tinton Falls)

1,090 DAYS IN THE SHELTER!!! She’s beautiful, smart, silly, sassy. Shanice does wish to be an only pet and we assume that’s why she is still here. She’ll make someone an amazingly loyal companion. She loves to go for walks, she loves to go for car rides, she loves to play fetch and run around. But she also likes to sit with you, smother you with kisses, and give you her paw!! Please help us find her a home!! November 2 marks her third year with us, and this Christmas would be her fourth Christmas in the shelter 💔. Please help us find Shanice a furever home for the holidays. @thedodo @nbcnewyork @abc7ny @943thepoint @asburyparkpress @news12nj @spreadtherumer @newyorkbullycrew #adoptdontshop #shelterdogs #rescuedismyfavoritebreed #adoptnjdogs #adoptabledogs #humanesociety #shelterdogsrock #petfinder @lizjeressi @nmstarz15
So here is some information about Shanice that we ALL can share so she can FINALLY find her forever home.
1. Shanice does need to be the only pet in the home.
2. She is a very smart and loyal pup who is silly and sassy.
3. Shanice absolutely loves going on walks, going on car rides, playing fetch and smothering you with kisses.
4She knows basic commands and LOVES to give you here paw. (A puppy handshake if you will)
This upcoming Christmas will be her fourth Christmas spent in the shelter if she is not adopted in time! .
So, let's work hard to share this story and to do all we can so that does not happen.
Everyone deserves to be in a warm, loving home during the holiday season and Shanice is included in that.
