Some of the numbers associated with Valentine's Day are pretty unbelievable, so I thought I'd share some.

Here are some stats according to statisticbrain.com. 108 million Valentine's cards will be exchanged Nearly 200 million roses are produced to handle the Valentine's rush, and nearly $13.2 billion will be spent on the holiday.

Here are some stats that are a little surprising. Despite all the money being spent and all of the cards being exchanged, only about 62% of consumers celebrate the holiday. And here's the one that floors me. 53% of women said they would end their relationship if they didn't get something for Valentine's day.

I recently did a little follow-up, unscientific survey of Jersey Shore women who didn't agree with those 53% of women who would dump a guy for not giving a gift. Over 75% said the gift wasn't the important thing, but they would be incredibly upset if their guy didn't acknowledge the holiday or at least remember it somehow.
