The holiday shopping has begun, the decorations are everywhere, the calendar says December, and yet many along the Jersey Shore say it just doesn't feel like the holiday season yet.

I guess it doesn't help that the temperatures have made it feel like October the past few days. I know the temperature is going to drop today and winter weather is right around the corner. I never actually look forward to winter weather, but cold weather makes singing "Winter Wonderland" a lot more convincing.

Somehow the prancing and pawing of hooves works a lot better when there's some snow...or at least some wind, or cold, or something. Santa can't acquire the necessary level of rosy cheek at 60 degrees. either.

Now, I'm not rooting for any storms of any kind, but a little chill in the air, or a flurry or two can't hurt. We have snowmen to build, mountains to ski, reindeer to feed and a jolly old elf who isn't going to be a jolly without those rosy cheeks.
