What I Ate at the Belmar Seafood Festival
Hope you had a chance to enjoy the NJ Seafood Festival in Belmar this weekend like we did!
This year, for the first time, we went down to the festival on Friday afternoon at 4 pm when it started, and managed to pull a table into the shade on closed-off Ocean Avenue with a nice breeze amidst the 90-degree heat.
I really couldn't even choose what to eat first...so I went right for the steamed lobster -- it was awesome. Then I had giant peel-and-eat shrimp -- delectable. Then I had crab legs -- phenomenal...
...and THEN, despite the fact that I was STUFFED, I simply HAD to have the shrimp and grits!!!!! Sheer deliciousness.
Benj also had crab cakes that he loved.
What did you eat? Did you try the alligator, lol?
And yes, for those who were listening to our morning show on Friday, I did bring my own nut crackers(aka lobster/crab shell crackers), and those skinny tools that pull the meat right out. How the heck do people use their hands and plastic ware at these events?!
Such a fun afternoon and evening out!
See you there next year!
