It's the first Monday of November and we're already grumbling about the cold. Here we go again.

Temperatures early this morning were hovering around the freezing mark, and most people were saying they weren't ready for all that yet, but is a November morning in the low 30's all that uncommon?

We did a little research to find out what an "average" November day should feel like in towns in Monmouth and Ocean counties. We found some answers at the Current Results website.

Here's what the average high and low temperatures are for a November day around our area...

Long Branch...56/38

Sandy Hook...54/41

Toms River...57/35

So, it turns out that we might be seeing those near freezing temperatures a little early in the month, but they are not terribly far off the averages for November. Maybe we just aren't ready for it yet.

By the way, our Chief Meteorlogist Dan Zarrow says overnight lows tonight will be in the upper 40's, and that's a little better.
