What to Donate to the FoodBank of MOC
In just a few weeks we'll be celebrating Thanksgiving, and most of us won't think twice about having a table full of food.
Not everyone around us is so lucky, which is why it's a great time to donate to the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
So what items are they most in need of?
With Thanksgiving on the way, it's all about the non-perishable side dishes and extras.
Think cans of cranberry sauce, gravy, and sweet potatoes, and boxes of instant mashed potatoes and stuffing.
Non-perishable protein is also an important donation. Cans of beans and tuna, and jars of peanut butter are nutritious and versatile.
The FoodBank also suggests boxes of cereal and non-perishable (boxed) milk.
You might also consider donating condiments like mayo, ketchup, salt, and pepper.
You don't realize how much you appreciate having certain things until you are without them.
Let's make sure our neighbors aren't going hungry! You can drop off your non-perishable food donations tomorrow during my live broadcast at OceanFirst Bank on Rt. 537 (Main St.) in Freehold.
I'll be there from 10a-3p, but the OceanFirst branches in Freehold and Jackson will be accepting non-perishable food donations for the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties from tomorrow until November 18th! Let's start their food drive off strong! I hope to see you tomorrow!
