What Would YOU Like to See at the Forked River Rest Area on the Garden State Parkway?
It's been over a year now since they opened the new Forked River rest area on the Garden State Parkway. The rest stop is located at mile marker 74. The rest stop is beautiful but in my opinion, it needs some added attractions.
Currently, the Forked River rest area has basically one eatery (Burger King) and a convenience store (Z Market) and that's it? I think there may be a small pretzel stand, but from what I have been told it's never open...but that I cannot confirm.

I'll be honest I miss a coffee house at the Forked River rest area. Starbucks was at the Forked River site for years and now you can either opt for Burger King coffee or go outside to the APlus Convenience Store located by the Sunoco at the far end of the service area. Maybe Starbucks or Dunkin could be tempted to come to the Forked River rest area? What about a local coffee vendor? One of our area "local" coffee shops could set up a nice coffee house there in the rest area?
The Atlantic, Monmouth, and Cheesequake rest areas all have Starbucks, so all the area rest stops have coffee except the Forked River location...that's my request. Many might think of another food choice? Travelers only have Burger King or a bag of chips to choose from basically. How about another choice....what would YOU pick for an added eatery?
One final question ... have you used the electric charging station there? if so how was your experience?
