2020/2021 Winter Predictions For The Jersey Shore
We may be talking about local Summer but before you know it, we will all be in winter coats and scarves yet again.
But, like we have all seen, New Jersey is prone to endure many different types of winter seasons.
Will it be absolutely freezing? Will we be pummeled with snow?
Well it is time to find out because we have heard from our weather experts and now have our first predictions for the 2020-2021 Winter season.
According to NOAA's Climate Prediction Center, "there is a 50 to 55% chance of La Niña conditions arriving this fall and lasting throughout the winter of 2020 to 2021."
Experiencing a La Niña Winter means that the Northeast portion of the USA will experience a warmer and wetter winter. Most of the cold temperatures and snowfall will take place in in states like Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Utah and Colorado.
But there is a bit of a catch.
Weather experts are also predicting that we will experience much colder temperatures in the Spring of 2021. So yes, snow in the Spring is possible. (I know...gross)
Now these are just predictions and obviously, can change at anytime. But it looks like you can keep that snowblower and snow shovel tucked away in storage for now! Hopefully it stays that way...
