You Voted For Monmouth & Ocean New Jersey’s Worst Roads
The debate about which local road in Monmouth and Ocean Counties is the one we hate to drive on the most may finally have one clear winner.
Trying to decide which road in Monmouth & Ocean Counties is the worst rivals the Taylor Ham/pork roll debate.
It can even get as heated as the gravy vs. sauce controversy, or the battle about whether Central Jersey is really a thing.
We thought that the best people to help us solve this mystery were the people who have to deal with these roads most often, you the drivers of Monmouth & Ocean Counties.
So, we asked you, and based on your votes, we are now able to name the three roads we hate traveling on the most here in Monmouth & Ocean Counties.
We did eliminate the Garden State Parkway for the purposes of this conversation because we wanted to keep it to local roads, but the Parkway did get enough votes to come in at #2 if we had included it.
Having said that, here are the top three vote-getters, according to you.
#3 (tie). Route 70 through the Brick/Lakewood area. Between the lights, the intersections, all the parking lots for the shopping areas, and a big dose of impatient driving, this stretch of road might be one of the worst driving experiences in the state.
#3 (tie). Route 35 Wall Township. This is also one of those spots where you can pretty much guarantee traffic no matter what time of the day it is.
#2 Asbury Circle. Part of it is reputation, part is straight-up traffic and the rest is the crazy length of the solid lines that don't let you get into your lane until the last second.
#1 Route 9, Lakewood. Not enough can be said about the difficulty of this stretch of road, but one thing is for sure. It got over 4 times the votes than any other road in the survey.
