Candy Controversy – Does New Jersey Have An Actual Favorite?

It's a pretty simple question. What is New Jersey's favorite candy . And of course the internet has the answer...or should we say answers.

It turns out that New Jersey's favorite candy depends on which article you believe. There are many sources and many different answers to this burning Halloween question. Let's dig in a little deeper.

Answer #1...Tootsie Pops, with Skittles 2nd and M&M's 3rd, according to candystore.com.

Answer #2...Kit Kat, according to an article at msn.com that sourced Google Trends.

Answer #3...Kit Kat, in a separate survey done by bid-on-equipment.com.

You would think that Kit Kat would take the crown, but in my searching, most websites I found (including Forbes, Reader's Digest, USA Today, Mental Floss, Daily Meal and Food & Wine just to name a few) source candystore.com, and they say Tootsie Pops.

Kit Kat, Tootsie Pops, and what about Candy Store's New Jersey winner from last year. M&M's? Why should choosing a simple thing like a favorite candy be straightforward? Nothing else is.

Maybe we should leave it like this. Maybe New Jersey's favorite candy should be...

(a) The one your kids won't notice is missing.

(b) The one you bought too much of.

(c) Whichever one you're secretly chewing right now.
