You are invited to a very special event this Saturday in Manasquan to help little ones like Cassidy Jane. It's a miracle she is alive.

An event to benefit pediatric cardiac research and care is coming to Manasquan and you're invited.

Cassidy, pictured here, was born with severe pulmonary stenosis. She is one of many stories of children born with a congenital heart defect. Cassidy has become a happy, vibrant child. But here's a picture taken during what she and her family had to go through.

Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) is the world's number one birth defect, affecting nearly 1 in every 100 babies. It is the number one cause of birth defect-related deaths. In the U.S., twice as many children die each year from CHD than from all forms of childhood cancer combines, yet funding for pediatric cancer research is five times higher than funding for CHD.

Since its inception in 2003, Big Hearts has raised nearly a million dollars to fund programs that lengthen and improve the lives of the littlest heart patients. They do this through large events, such as an annual walk, gala, and golf tournament, and through smaller gatherings as well.

The lives of members of the Big Hearts board, committee, and families have been touched by someone born with CHD and who need surgical intervention in order to survive.  They are steadfast in their commitment to fund initiatives that will help all children born with CHD live into adulthood with a high quality of life. They are also dedicated to making a difference in eradicating the gross underfunding of this cause.

Big Hearts to Little Hearts invites you to its annual celebration this Saturday, March 5th, at the Manasquan Elks Lodge (17 Stockton Lake Boulevard.) Tickets are $60 per person and include dinner, dancing to a live band, a gift auction and a silent auction. All proceeds will go to pediatric cardiac research and care. CLICK HERE to attend.
