Sharing My Vaccine Experience! I Just Got My Second Shot
I know that lots of Jersey Shore residents who got a vaccine shot like to share their stories so that those who will have them in the near future will have an idea what to expect. I want to do the same.
I had my first shot (Pfizer) the first week of this month. I was so glad and relieved to get it, since I was really concerned about this virus with my heart condition (I had a heart attack 8 years ago).
I got the first shot at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, and they were amazing. The whole process, from the time I arrived until the time I left was friendly, streamlined and very well organized.
As far as side effects from the first shot, I am happy to say I didn't have any. No fever, no arm soreness, so I was very lucky with the first shot.
I know that a lot of peoples say the second shot is the one that packs a bit of a side effect wallop. Here's what I experienced. I got the second shot yesterday morning, and about 20 hours later, here's what I can tell you.
My arm is killing me. It has since late last night. And I've had a dull headache since I woke up. I also have some overall mild aches. Guys, all that is a small price to pay. I'm not complaining. I know others felt worse than I do, and when you get the vaccine, I hope any side effects skip you.
I know that everyone's experience is different, and I'm hoping you have nothing but good experiences with the vaccine you receive. And I hope you can get yours soon. I wish each and every one of you health. Please be safe during these tough times.
And thank you to the great people at Jersey Shore University Medical Center for taking such good care of me and all of us. They, and all our medical professionals on the front lines, are true heroes, and we can never thank them enough.
