Yule Nog – Cocktail of the Week
Last week I shared a recipe for Christmas Cinnamon Sangria, perfect for big holiday get-togethers.
If you're not feeling the wine (or you want something a little less fruity), why not serve up a glass of creamy Yule Nog?
This week's cocktail features one of the season's more controversial drinks: egg nog. I happen to be a fan, but the thing to remember is: a little goes a long way, and the colder the nog, the better.
This is not the kind of drink you have several of. That's just asking for trouble.
Ingredients:
- 1 oz vanilla vodka
- 1 oz. amaretto (DiSaronno is really the way to go...)
- 3 oz egg nog
- cinnamon, to garnish
- toasted almond slivers, to garnish (optional)
Stir all ingredients with ice, and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon and a few slivered almonds.
Switch it up:
Use vanilla rum instead of vodka.
Top with some fresh grated nutmeg instead of cinnamon (or use both!)
Try a cinnamon liqueur or schnapps instead of amaretto for a spicier drink.
Enjoy it on the rocks!
*Please drink responsibly.*
