Last week I was up in Westfield, when Duzzy and I stopped for a drink.

I loved what I had so much that I'm featuring it as this week's cocktail.

16 Prospect Wine Bar & Bistro simply called it Cinnamon Sangria, but the garnish was so fabulously festive, I can't help but call it Christmas Sangria -- especially because I totally plan to make it for my family on Christmas Eve!

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle red wine (they used Cabernet)
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 3/4 cup cinnamon schnapps
  • 1/2 cup apple schnapps
  • 1/2 cup peach schnapps
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice
  • fresh cranberries, to garnish
  • pine sprig, to garnish
  • cinnamon stick, to garnish
  • orange wheel, to garnish

Combine all ingredients, and serve over ice, garnishing with a few fresh cranberries, a tiny pine sprig, cinnamon stick, and an orange wheel.

Protip: Use frozen cranberries to help keep your drink cold!

As with all sangria recipes, you might need to adjust the amount of each ingredient to suit your tastes.

Or just head up the Parkway to Westfield and order a glass of the Cinnamon Sangria at 16 Prospect!

*Please drink responsibly.*
