Freehold Represented At Mets Home Opener

In the middle of the Mets Season opener, something had me rooting for the Padres, at least for a few minutes. Freehold native Brad Brach stepped onto the mound for San Diego.

It takes a lot for me to be cheering for the team playing against the Mets, especially on Opening Day, but I have to admit, Brad Brach made me a Padres fan for a few minutes. Brad, who attended Monmouth University didn't have a great outing, but it was still awesome to see a kid from Freehold making an appearance on the CitiField mound.

As a relief pitcher, it is certainly possible to see him again in the series against the Mets, so hopefully he'll make another appearance. The Mets and Padres play game 2 of their series tomorrow night.
