Hackensack Meridian Health is giving residents an opportunity to help local hospitals, public health departments and other health care providers assess the health status in their community.

Starting in April, residents in Hackensack Meridian Health’s coverage area, from Bergen through Ocean Counties will be given that opportunity.

The firm, Professional Research Consultants of Omaha, Nebraska, was hired by Hackensack Meridian Health to conduct this Community Health Needs Assessment.

The project will gather information about the health status of area residents through a telephone survey, the result of which will be combined into a Community Report, that will be published by the end of 2019.

Survey participants will be randomly selected and responses to the survey will be kept strictly confidential.

As the survey process begins, Hackensack Meridian Health is hoping area residents will take an active role.

“We really want to encourage everyone to participate if they’re called. This is the community’s opportunity to give us the information we need to address the issues that impact our area the most,” Laura Frank, vice president, Community Outreach and Engagement for Hackensack Meridian Health, said.
