Hurricane Evacuation Drill Today

You may notice some additional police activities on certain southern Jersey Shore roads today due to a hurricane evacuation drill being conducted today, according to the NJDOT.

No roads will be closed during the drill, but you may see extra police activity on I-195 from Robbinsville through Wall. The Garden State Parkway will see additional police activity as well, , but only if you're traveling between miles 0 through 38 in South Jersey.

The exercise is being conducted to prepare for something called contraflow, which reverses traffic on a roadway to travel in the opposite direction. You can get details at the NJDOT’s traffic information website.
