Last Summer Weekend At The Movies: Summer Wrap Up And My Predictions

I was so bad at my movie predictions this summer that I'm kind of embarrassed. I have this weekend to make up for it.

First, let's take a look at the top two movies for summer 2012. At #2 The Dark Knight Rises brought in almost $ 425 million, but the top movie this summer was easily The Avengers, which took in an amazing $ 617 million!

Alright, now this weekend. For me, the summer goes out with a bit of a whimper. After all the big names and all the big movies all summer long, it looks like the new movie that has the best chance of capturing the top spot is The Possession with Kyra Sedgwick. I'll go with it. The Possession brings in $11 million and finishes at #1. 

As for my prediction record for the summer, I'll put it in simple terms. I got one right. All the weeks and all the predictions and all the movies and I got one right. Pretty pathetic.
