The Chicken or The Egg restaurant in Beach Haven has made a name for themselves as the local hotspot that is open 24/7 during the summer months with so many different menu options, it is impossible to choose.

Well, now the owners are in some trouble.

The U.S. Department of Labor just announced that they are fining the restaurant $786,548 in violations.

The restaurant has not been paying workers time-and-a-half to workers who have surpassed working forty hours per week which violates the Fair Labor Standards Act. They did not even give written representation of various employees' earnings for each pay period.

So what came first: the chicken or the egg? How about you guys pay your employees and then we will answer the question.

If you or someone you know is in a similar situation of not being compensated for over-time hours, you can report them without litigation through the PAID Program.
