What's up, Peeps? Time to get our Friday on!

This time of year is all about Peeps -- those pastel sugar covered marshmallow bits of joy that scream out 'Spring is here!'

Sure, you can get peeps year-round now, but the originals are the best, and now we'll take them for a swim...with a Peeptini!

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz marshmallow vodka (like Pinnacle or Smirnoff)
  • .5 oz. vanilla vodka
  • 1.5 oz. milk or cream
  • simple syrup* (to taste)
  • colored sugar** (to garnish)
  • Marshmallow Peep (to garnish)

*To make simple syrup, combine equal parts water and sugar, and bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Let the mixture cool. Done.

**To make colored sugar, use about 1 drop of food coloring for every 1/2 cup of sugar you want to color. Mix it up in a giant bowl, or shake it in a ziploc bag/martini shaker/whatever you have. Or just buy colored sugar at the store -- way easier.

Shake both vodkas and milk with ice, adding simple syrup if you like it sweeter. Rim a martini glass with colored sugar, using a bit of the simple syrup to help it stick. Strain the drink into the martini glass. Feel free to lightly sprinkle some colored sugar on top of the drink, then let the peep float on top, or slice the bottom of the peep and stick it on the side of the glass.

Don't let the kids feel left out! Peeps float just as well on booze-free chocolate or vanilla milk. Peep hot chocolate, anyone?

Ways to switch it up:

Use chocolate, grape, cherry, or orange vodka instead of vanilla.
Use colored sugar to make simple syrup.
Use less milk, and blend mix with vanilla ice cream for a frozen Peeptini!

*Please drink responsibly.*
