Message To The Jersey Shore, NJ: This Isn’t Goodbye; It’s See You Later
Hi Everyone
So I just finished unveiling the news on Facebook and now I need to put it in writing.
A few months ago, I told you all that I was experiencing some serious health issues with my back.
Listen to Nicole Murray middays on 94.3 The Point and download our free 94.3 The Point app.
Ever have a herniated disc? It is very painful.
Back on July 7th, I had surgery to have this issue taken care of. They sliced the herniated part of the disc off but unfortunately, the disc RE-herniated two months after the surgery.
This happens; Especially when the area is extremely damaged which mine is because my back injuries started at the age of 16. Yes, you read that correctly....16 years old.
I was told that according to scans, my back looks like one of a 50 year old.
Does that make me more wisdomous??!! I thought so....
Well today's announcement isn't the best but it is necessary: on Tuesday, October 19th, it was my last day on the air for the next few weeks.
I am taking a step back to have a fusion done so that this issue will be sorted once and for all!
This surgery -- which is happening tomorrow, October 20th -- involves taking the damaged disc out and replacing it with metal.
I asked if some Go Go Gadget stuff could be put in there right along with it...the doctor didn't find me all that funny at all believe it or not.
Shocking...I know....
If I had to guess, this means I have to pull back 100% for at least a month.
But there is a silver lining: I will be back.
And when I do return, I will work my way back to 100% where I am in your face ALL. THE. TIME. (Be careful what you wish for)
Slowly but surely, I will be back on the air, I will be back to writing, I will be attending events, I will be doing Facebook Lives, I will be calling Lou Russo short and who knows what else we will squeeze in there in-between.
I do have one favor to ask:
While I am gone, continue to support the entire 94.3 The Point crew.
Lou Russo & Shannon Holly's Morning Show is EXPANDING.
Matt Ryan is EXPANDING.
Jimmy G is EXPANDING.
Give them your undying support while I'm gone because they are working immensely hard in front of and behind the scenes all for you.
So for the final time in October of 2021, I am signing off.
Sending much love to you all.
I will be back...partly made of metal.
Love,
Nicole S Murray XOXO.
