Monmouth County is home some of the most beautiful land, landscape and parks around. If you want to make sure you've seen all our great county has to offer, we comprised a checklist of sorts for you.

There are some great parks in our area and we want to know how many of them you've visited or how many you need to make plans to get to soon.We got the help of the great Visit Monmouth website.

Here are the six Historic Sites & Park they highlight on the site. We left a check box in front of each name for your organizing convenience. Outside is a good place to be these days, so let's take advantage before it gets too cold.

[  ] Allaire State Park. What an amazing place this is for the whole family to enjoy. It's over 3000 acres and will transport you back to the 1700's. Visit the Historic Village at Allaire website.

[  ] Monmouth Battlefield State Park. All the history, all the beauty, and it's right in our backyard.Get hours, details and special event info at the Monmouth Battlefield State Park page.

[  ] Longstreet Farm. Is there anything not beautiful in Holmdel? Longstreet Farm at Holmdel Park gives you a taste of live in the late 1800's here in our little corner of the world. Get the details at the Monmouth County Park System website.

[  ] Fort Hancock. Located at Gateway National Recreation Area in Sandy Hook, there are over 100 buildings, some over 120 years old. Get more at the National Park Service website.

[  ] Camp Evans. Located right on Marconi Rd. In Wall. You can learn so much from World Wars I and II, the cold war and much more. Info Age has more details for you.

[  ] Historic Walnford. This awesome place includes a home built in 1774 (for the Waln family) Get some more details at the Monmouth County Park System website.

I am happy to say that I can check 5 of the six off my list. I have never been to Walnford, but it sounds awesome. Of course with all that is going on, please check ahead for any COVID schedule changes or restrictions.

Here are just some more great places we may normally overlook as destinations, but as we stay close to home, they are great options. Don't let the decent weather fade! Get out there soon and enjoy some fresh air!
