New Jersey Water Parks Open and Ready to Rock
Don't look now, but Memorial Day Weekend is just around the corner, and the weather FINALLY looks like it is going to cooperate!
Yes, it's been a soggy spring, but once the temperatures hit over 80, it's time to get out for some family fun! I have three children, so I'm always up for a good time at the shore! Plus, who doesn't want to take a quick dip after an afternoon on the soccer or baseball field?
The best part is our New Jersey water parks are ready for action, with new features for 2016!
For example, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor has done parents a solid by adding (get this) 300 new lounge chairs at the brand new Caribbean Cove! There is a sprawling beach area with a shaded canopy for those trying to avoid sunburn, and 55 new interactive features for water fun-spray nozzles, water guns, a slide, two-foot pool and tipping bucket! The park is currently open for business on weekends, and just in time for the summer weather we are about to get!
Breakwater Beach has expanded with the super fun Smuggler's Quay Adventure Golf Course. Aspiring gold pros can enjoy a 36-hole, multilevel mountain mini-golf course at Ocean Terrace and Sherman Avenue. Plus, you really have to try the new wave pools and slides. They opened late last year, so if you didn't get a chance to jump in, head straight to the "Salem's Scream..Oh My Cod" slide (love that name) and "Revere's Wild Ride." Then go straight to the wave pool!
Keansburg's Runaway Rapids Water Park is opening on May 28! Here's a tip-starting on June 12, the park will have buy one, get one free tickets available on Monday, Wednesdays and Thursdays (good when purchasing bracelets in multiples of two-for every bracelet purchased, you receive a bracelet free). The park is celebrating 20 years in existence, and will have tons of events planned this summer to mark the occasion.
Heading to Long Beach Island this summer? Don't miss Thundering Surf Water Park, which is opening on May 28! The park is in the process of revamping the kiddie area! Older kids can hit the super cool Flowrider, the which gives you the ultimate boogie-board experience. Brave souls can try stand up "flowboarding" Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
