The folks at Lovefood made a list of the most historic restaurants in each state. It's sort of the ultimate road trip list for foodies.

The choice for the most historic restaurant in New Jersey takes us all the way back to 1742 when this restaurant first opened in Mendham.

The great restaurant we're talking about is Black Horse Tavern and Pub. According to its website, they are the "oldest continually running restaurant" in New Jersey, with nearly 300 years of serving the Garden State.

That definitely qualifies them as the most historic restaurant in New Jersey, so it sounds like an excellent choice.

Make sure when you go there you try their Stacked Baby Back Ribs or their amazing 18oz pub ribeye. All of their menu choices are awesome, so you can't go wrong.
