It looks like the party may be over. :(

Party City just announced that they will be closing 45 stores in 2019 due to the global helium shortage.

The store chain did not reveal which locations they plan on shutting down but all they can promise is that random closures will happening throughout the rest of the year.

"This year, after careful consideration and evaluation of our store fleet, we’ve made the decision to close more stores than usual in order to help optimize our market-level performance, focus on the most profitable locations and improve the overall health of our store portfolio,” said Party City CEO James Harrison.

The Party City supply at the Jersey Shore is scarce with two Jersey Shore locations which include on Highway 35 in Hazlet and on Route 9 in Howell. Let's hope that these stores remain unaffected by these closures.

The good news is that Party City supposedly has an alternative helium source that hopefully will reach final approval soon.
