My son has been a part of the Jazz Arts Academy since last summer so I can tell you as a parent just how blessed we are to have an incredible opportunity like this one at our fingertips in Red Bank. And although renovations will begin soon on the Count Basie Theatre and their Performing Arts Academy building, the classes will still be held in Red Bank. After all, the show must go on!

So if your child is a musician ages 13 through 19, here is specific info on the Jazz Arts Academy:

The Jazz Arts Academy encourages students to learn, study and perform with an all-star, all-pro faculty. Students receive comprehensive training in improvisation, music theory, jazz history, and instruction tailored to their instrument. The program features group lessons, individual coaching and listening sessions, as well as master classes with visiting artists. Students will improve on their instrument, perform in ensembles, and meet other young musicians in the process.

Registration is now taking place for the spring and summer of 2017:

--The Spring Session takes place Sundays at 4 pm from April 9th through June 18th (no class on April 16th or May 14th). A student showcase concert will be held on June 18th.

--The Summer Session of the Jazz Arts Academy takes place for a full week (full days) from Monday, July 24th through Friday, July 28th, 10 am - 4 pm. This is an exciting week of music where your kids will perform in concerts on both Friday and Saturday nights (July 28th and 29th) as part of the Summer Jazz Cafe series at Two River Theater in Red Bank, and selected students will also perform at the Jazz in the Park series on Thursday, July 27th.

And there is a special offer for Spring Jazz students: If you sign up for both the Spring Session and the Summer Session, you'll get a $100 discount. For more info, call 732-224-8778 x. 125, or CLICK HERE and HERE! Or email info@jazzartsproject.org.
