Photos of a Great Day Trip with My Son
It's not always easy to impress a 14 year old boy...but this little road trip did!
This past Saturday was a gorgeous day, and some good friends of ours invited us to walk around Philadelphia. Heck...we hadn't ever even been over the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, lol!
As a native New Yorker, I have had my boys in NYC more times than I can count. But Philly? I am ashamed to say I know next to nothing about it. Certainly not enough to spend a whole day walking around and figuring out where to go.
So we were thrilled to have the opportunity to spend some time there with friends that know and love that city. And it was such an awesome experience for us.
These are the photos that Ben and I took. Most of them are of the city and the sights...BUT...
..you may notice from one particular photo that there was an event that just happened to be taking place that day -- Philly's annual Naked Bike Ride (LOL!!!)
Believe me, EVERYONE was taking photos of the Naked Bike Ride, lol!!! Huge crowds were cheering on the riders, and many parents were holding kids out into the street to get high-fived by the bikers!
And, of course, as a foodie, Benj HAD to try a cheesesteak from one of the most famous places in Philly. You'll have to guess which one he chose!
All told, we walked over 7 miles and had such an amazing time. The city is full of energy, history, architecture and fun!
Philadelphia -- we WILL be back!
