Pointsettia Bash Highlights: “Poor Little Lou”, A Trip To Mexico, The Nerds, And More!
Pointsettia Bash is always a great time and last night was no exception. It's a great chance to hang out with listeners, friends, and of course, my on-air family...all for a good cause -- and yes, I wore the heels. This picture is just one of my favorite moments from this year's Bash.
Lou Russo is the perfect model of someone who doesn't take himself too seriously. With those shoes on, I was probably about 6' tall...Lou is 5'2 (on a good day). So naturally, I had to make sure I was standing next to him at all times! He always takes it in stride though, joking with me -- and everyone else-- about it throughout the night.
One of the best things about Pointsettia Bash is the fabulous prizes we give away. Thanks to the Travelsmiths of Point Pleasant, one lucky listener, Scott from Brick, won a 5-day, 4-night trip to Mexico!! The look on his face when he won was priceless, and the fact that he ran up on stage to give all of us slightly intoxicated hugs and kisses was one of the funniest moments of the night.
Of course The Nerds provide excellent entertainment and I know I heard multiple people throughout the night say, "I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!" and proceed to dance like no one was watching. (I was watching, and it was VERY entertaining.)
Most importantly is the fact that we raised thousands of dollars for the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation. The night is fun, yes, but it's for such a great cause. We cannot say thank you enough to everyone who contributed their time, money, and services to make Pointsettia Bash 2011 a success. Special thanks to the Blue Knights for their check!!
