Renovations on the Spring Lake Bridges

So many couples have had their wedding photos taken here. The two bridges at this Spring Lake park are getting a facelift.

The two bridges at Divine Park in Spring Lake are among the most-photographed, picturesque settings in Monmouth County.

But they were getting old and splintery, and you can't have a bride get a splinter on her way to her wedding, right?

I'm pretty sure this isn't the official reason for the bridges getting a facelift...but it's nice to see that the construction is moving along nicely and that gives me lots of hope that by the spring we will have the Fourth Avenue Bridge finished. (The other one is already done, as you can see from this photo.)

Sure it doesn't have the charm of being old and warn, but at least they didn't tear them down and leave us with nothing...or replace the bridges with something more modern. This town will always look, to me, like something out of a fairy tale.
