With Valentine's Day just around the corner, you may be wondering just how romantic we are in the Garden State.

New Jersey May Be More Romantic Than You Think

You may need to put all the stereotypes about New Jersey aside for this one. You can't be rude and romantic at the same time, can you?

Despite all the jokes about New Jersey and our "attitude", the study says New Jersey is the 3rd most romantic state in the nation according to Bookie.

How did we get such a high grade? It was a combination of Valentine's Day spending data, the marriage rate in New Jersey, and Google Trends stats that put us near the top rung of the romance ladder.

New Jersey Ranks In The Top Three States for Romance

Only two states got a higher score than the Garden State in the study, and they are Kansas at #2 and North Dakota in the top spot.

The data says we spend, on average, $91.90, which seems a little low for Garden State residents. Our marriage rate is just a touch under 50%.

On the other side of the romance spectrum are the three least romantic states in America. If you're looking for romance odds are you won't find it in Alaska, Vermont, or Oregon.
