'Neighbors' not only opened at number one at the box office, it derailed its super-powered competition so dramatically that it may be difficult for it to fully recover.

There were neighbors sharing generators, sharing food, making gas and food runs. There were neighbors helping clear downed trees and damged homes. There were neighbors checking in elderly neighbors. Even though Thanksgiving is a little behind us, there is still plenty of time to be thankful for good neighbors.
I remember during the storm as our crew monitored the storm and studied the radar, someone said that things would never be the same again on the shore. Who knew how true that would be.
With all that's gone on in the past few weeks, it seems like Thanksgiving just kind of appeared out of nowhere this year. I think this Thanksgiving will be the most meaningful one we've had in a long time here at the Jersey Shore.
Hollywood can have there stereotypes and comedians can make their predictable jokes, but as far as I'm concerned, especially after the past two weeks, I'd rather be surrounded by residents of the great Garden State than anyone else on Earth.
On a nice day in our neighborhood in Point Pleasant, Diane and I get to see a lot of our neighbors. Some are walking the dog, some getting home from work, some just pop out of their house just to say hello. We were just talking the other night about how lucky we are to have great neighbors. We all know it's not always that way.
