I have passed it by many times but never 'taken a detour' to stop, peruse and support some amazing artists and their stunning work.

Detour Gallery in Red Bank is tucked away on Clay Street, just behind Broad Street.

And after seeing the stunning piece pictured above, which is outside above the building, I was instantly attracted to this place.

I have always been attracted to talent and been mystified by those who were born with the talent to create works of art. Their visions are astounding.

This gallery is 10,000 sq. ft. of contemporary space with 3 main exhibition areas along with exterior art spaces...including up in the air like this piece is, and painted exterior walls.

Detour sells art that is hand-picked by the owner and that you would be hard pressed to find anywhere except at the best art fairs.

This gallery also supports emerging artists and the talent of those who work in realistic, abstract, street art, urban art, pop art, hyper-realistic, photography, and more.

The philosophy of Detour Gallery is to celebrate and share the under-appreciated diversity among art and artists with the public.

You can make a free appointment to visit the gallery or reserve a spot for upcoming artists' receptions. The exhibition by Willie Torbert and his inspiring work looks incredible.
