One of the events I look forward to every year is the Flavor of Freehold, where you get a “passport” to visit local restaurants and shops in Downtown Freehold, sample menu items, chat with business owners and get social with the community.

I sampled some tasty menu items from El Meson, Uncle Ralston’s Jamaican Homestyle, Shloka Fine Indian Dining, Texas Mexican Restaurant, Caribbean Flavor, San Marzano Trattoria, A Little Bit of Cuba Dos, Metropolitan Café, The Court Jester and of course Café 360 for some ice-cream. As we were celebrating Irish Week complete with Traditional Irish Bagpipers, I came across this wood sculpture of Tillie at the Freehold Art Gallery and had to share it with you.

Tillie was carved by artist Emilio Rossi from a piling from the NYC South Ferry and for $880.00 you can bring this unique and creative symbol of Asbury Park & the Jersey Shore into your space. Downtown Freehold is getting ready for another season of Freehold Idol and the Thursday’s Rock! Summer Concert Series.
