Three Delicious Places for Foodies and their Kids!
Over the past couple of weekends my kids and I tried three places we had never been. And they were great!
After our Friday morning broadcast from the beach in Asbury, the boys and I tried a place we have been meaning to get to -- TOAST.
We left the beach and headed over to this breakfast and lunch restaurant on Cookman and loved it immediately upon walking in the door.
The atmosphere is laid back and cozy-comfy, we had an excellent server and manager, both full of smiles and stopping by often to check on us and recommending things to try. The food we ordered was mostly fantastic breakfast fare like omelets and french toast and pancakes, but the lunches look amazing and I had to get the sweet potato fries which were delectable! We'll have to go back for a proper lunch next time. And nothing beats their pancake slogan!
At Freehold Mall, we noticed a newer addition to the Food Court -- CREPES! It's called Crepes Celestes and although they had crepes filled with food, we really wanted the dessert crepes -- from butter and cinnamon, to hazelnut and bananas, to white chocolate and strawberries...these were huge and mouth-watering!
And recently I finally got to take my son to The Melting Pot in Red Bank. He had been asking for ages to go there, and we finally did. It was quite the adventure for first-timers like us, so we did three courses. The melty cheese was phenomenal, the dumplings and ravioli were excellent, and the chocolate dessert course was heavenly! And the overall experience of having something to DO while you sit there was the most fun of all! It was just a great time holding our own food over a melting pot and eating it all gooey and sticky and drippy!
Have you been to these places?
